Husband Slayer (news review)
AJEMINE DOUGLAS, A 41 YEARS OLD MOTHER OF FOUR, WAS ARRESTED BY THE OPERATIVES OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF THE POLICE SPECIAL INTELLIGENCE RESPONSE TEAM, IRT, in Abalama Area of River State, for killing her husband, Inedugoba Tyger and having his corpse buried in a shallow grave afterwards.
She was arrested and paraded alongside with two other suspects, Kingsley Nnaa and Sunny, whom she had hired to perpetrate the crime that took place on January 25th, 2019. Investigation revealed that she had her husband killed because he was in the habit of battering and raping her, and he had also abandoned her, and then moved into a new apartment in Port Harcourt, River State, with another woman.
Investigation also revealed that Ajemine was in bed with Tyger on the night of the crime when the two contract-killers snuck into their former apartment, in her privy, and strangled him to death. Then, she'd driven his car to a nearby market and had parked it where it could be easily found by the police. She also impersonated Tyger by texting his brothers through his phone, informing them that he was traveling out of the state on a business trip, however, each time the brothers tried to call him back, she would switch off his phones. This aroused their suspicion and led them to alerting the IRT.
The IRT had then begun an investigation which later produced a confession by Ajemine. Police sources said that, in the confession, Ajemine stated that she did not want her husband dead, but only wanted him beaten up, but unfortunately, her husband had recognized Sunny, one of his two assailants, prompting them to improvised by strangling him to death. She claimed that she was furious with them, but however, she did provide them with a shovel to dig a shallow grave to bury his corpse at the back of the house.
Both the killers corroborated her story, stating it in their own confession that they were only contracted by Ajemine to beat him up as a warning against the constant physical abuse of her, but then, that things'd got complicated when the victim identified one of them.
However, after the murder of Tyger, Ajemine had since then taken Kingsley Nnaa, one of the killers, as her lover, and they had been meeting in a hotel for sex before their arrests.
