Pants Down (News Review)
A 30 YEARS OLD MAN, LAMINU ALLI, HAS BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED TO THE MAGISTRATE COURT BY THE LAGOS STATE POLICE for attempting to rape a mad pregnant woman, known as Christiana, in an uncompleted building in the area of Isheri-Olofin, along Igando-LASU expressway to Iyana Iba, Lagos state.
The residents who had caught him with the mentally sick victim, pants down and with a knife, alleged that the suspect specialized in engaging mad ladies on the streets in the area in sex for ritual purposes, and impregnating them. Allegedly, he was once also caught in the same act with another mad woman but he got away.
After apprehending him, the residents hauled him away to the Police station, where he was detained and then a swift investigation had begun. Investigation revealed that he was culpable, and he was later charged to court for attempting to rape the mad pregnant woman. He pleaded 'not guilty'.
However, the prosecutor Supol Kenneth Asibor begged the court to give a new date for the hearing of the case since he had pleaded 'not guilty' to enable the Police gather more evidence to prove their case.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. T. O Shomade granted the defendant a bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when his bail application would be perfected.
The matter was then adjourned till August 12th 2019.
